poking my head in and a mealtime monday

Ahhh I kind of miss blogging. Mostly just to have the chance to record things that are going on in our lives. If I don't do it here chances are it will never get done!
First I have a mealtime Monday post (we actually got pictures OFF our camera over the weekend yea Us!)
This meal is chicken soup with dumplings. Normally I make smaller dumplings that look more like noodles. However I must have watched someone on TV make big dumplings recently. I have never made these before, but it always sounded good and it did taste good. I was surprised they came out just how I imagined.
I forgot how LOOOOONNNNNG it takes to post on here. That is part of the reason I don't have the time to blog. Waiting for pictures to come up is the biggest issue. We signed up for a flickr account, but then realized we had many more pictures than we were allowed free per month. Yahoo lets you store pictures for free I think......anyway we are looking into online storage of pictures it would help us in many ways.
Daniel is still crawling around. The slightly troubling thing is that he doesn't really sit. He can sit, but when he does he doesn't do it for long, or gets really crabby about it. In fact he has learned to stiffen his legs so he can't sit. He likes to stand, but doesn't really pull himself up to stand......not that we have anything for him to pull himself up on since we have to have the house PERFECT at ALL times for showings and its better to have more space (no coffee table or like object)....because "Your house needs to be immaculate" or so I have been told a bazillion times in the past 8 months (sometimes more than once a day oh JOY!). So I wasn't to worried about him not sitting because he does get around fine, and well we didn't want to have to do the full child proofing because of the whole house selling thing. However his main care taker at the daycare mentioned it and it got me in a slight panic. I am better now though after doing some internet trolling and seeing he is on schedule with everything else.
He does seem to say DaDa.....I'm not to sure when you can claim something as his first "word". He does not say that for Chad, it is just a random thing. He has gotten a great routine down for when you tell him "no". I need to get a picture or video of that. Because he throws one arm down, pulls his head back, and starts to wail, then he puts his head on the arm and beats the ground with the other arm. Ahhhh then we laugh at him.
Belle still loves her baby brother, she even shares with him. The other day she let him take a bone away from her (even I was impressed by that one). And today, she let him have some of her kibble....such a nice dog huh? I don't think Daniel will sample any of that again though lol!
OK that is all for now....I may pop back in again. Work has calmed down again and we are about to enter the holiday slow down....which is actually nice about where I work. I might be able to start this back up if it continues.
Toodles
Officially taking a break
Today was a horrible Work at home mom day. I can usually handly the workload and Daniel and multitaks on many different levels. However today would have been an insane day even in the office, then Daniel was just in a needy (although mostly cute) mood....then I cut myself getting "dinner" ready...then I lost a pacifier.....then Chad called to say we were having a showing.....at dinnertime........ARRRGGGGhh....it was in between e-mails, deadlines, broken hyperlinks, crying, dirty diapers, dishwasher loaded, counter scrubbing.....I wondered
"Why in the world am I still worried about posting a blog entry?"
The house has actually stayed in fairly good "show" condition the past few weeks. We have been really good about being EXTREMELY anal about every little thing (so against our nature). It still stresses me out to no end. However in keeping the hosue in such order other things fall away. Like making meals at home (don't want to get a single spot on that clean stove....heaven forbid there are leftovers that may stink up the fridge or house). Also we have had a good number of showings which always happen at bad times (NAPTIME!).
Anyway I just realized tonight its easier to take this off my plate of things on my list of things to do.
Oh and Belle and Daniel wanted me to inform you all that they would also stop blogging for a bit. Belle had a wonderful story to tell about being in a walk for the humane society and how she got to play on a fountain and she got lots of attention.
I hope to get on for some quick highlights from time to time. BUt until the house sells and we are moved I won't be posting much if at all. Until then
-Daniel is very close to talking, he is babbling a mile a minute. He has two front bottom teeth and he likes to see how his tongue works with the teeth to make sounds, I think his first word will be Daddy....or some form he does the da da da a lot (although a few weeks ago he was doing M sounds)
-He crawls a lot, all army style though. We have a GREAT picture of him and Belle in a camo sweatsuit.....but to post it would require me downloading it off the camera and attempting to post on blogger
-His is really giggly, and LOVES pretty girls. Just tonight he picked out a blonde waitress and kept trying to get her attention it was so cute.
-He stands well, but hasn't pulled himself up yet.
-I really thought he was going to be a lefty, but tonight he was feeding himself (puffy things) with his right
-He has learned to push Belle away when she kisses, and learned to grab the kitties fur....Tess doesnt' mind all that much she is the best cat ever
OK thats all......I at least hope to put Daniel stuff up every once in a while, but I wouldn't count on it.
Thanks.....pray for the house!
Same old same old
I am still around, just hadn't had the time to post. We have lots to post about I have some Mealtime Mondays to go up. Our house is back on the market and that just throws me off time and stress wise. I also need to get Daniel and Belle on, cause they have some blogging to do! I at least have to say:
GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mealtime Monday Baked Apples

OK again not the best picture. This was from a few weeks ago when apples first went on sale. We have since been apple picking and have apples coming out of our....well you know. For this apple dish I ground various cereals in our cabinet some honey, brown sugar, apple pie spice, oh and dried cranberries. They went into the oven the oven (350?), while we ate dinner. I don't normally like baked apples, but this was good.....a little mushy. I think we will be having more of these (with less sweetener, and maybe oatmeal).
So we have lots of apples and plan on picking more.....does anyone have a good non-dessert recipe for apples? I have done a chicken apple curry in the past and that was good. I was thinking of making a stuffing with apples, or using pork. But do any of you have any favorites that would make a good healthy dinner?
