Senior Bitey has returned

So Daniel has started to bite again in daycare. When he was in the Infant class they brushed it off as a teething thing.....although I still had to sign "incident reports". Chad and I suspected it was more than that, but it went away and he only did it to each of us once. The time he did bite us he was taken away to his room. However now in daycare he is being more aggressive about it and.....breaking skin. I feel horrible about it (it doesn't help that his prime victim is the son of a JUDGE) but I am not there when it happens. I had a "meeting" with the director the other day......However there is not much I can do. When he is around other kids I have been keeping an eye on him but he never seems to care if kids outside of daycare take something from him. He has started to "play" bite with us (and the dog).....most of the time he doesn't actually clamp down, when even with play bites try to pull him away and say "NO BITES" and stop play. Most things we have read said this stage will pass. However..... its still no fun having to have a talk with the "principle"!

Hopefully 2.0 won't have this problem. Right now there are issues with him kicking the crap out of mommy....but no behavior problems so far;-)
Oh check out Daniel's blog. He wrote about our weekend and "Belle's day". On Saturday we were leaving the house and noticed part of the fence was down (we had bad windstorms lately).....Belle had been in and out all morning and never left the yard even though she could have easily took off. We had been thinking about how neglected she had been lately and decided we needed to have some quality time with her. So on Sunday we celebrated the 2nd annual "Belle's day". She is such a good dog!

Pappa needs a new pair of shoes

It doesn't show up to well in the above photo, but Daniel decided to decorate his daddy's shoes. Daniel loves to scribble, his is kind of obsessed with it. Oh and Chad was wearing the shoes at the time and didn't even notice!

A day without wireless

I work with a fellow "working mom" who has recently gone through the whole trying to sell your home thing. She also has recently done a stint of working from home. She is one of the few people who can truly sympathize the difficulty of keeping a house PERFECTLY clean AT ALL TIMES.....while trying meet deadlines, listen to conference calls, keep a toddler occupied (and not use the T.V. as a babysitter)....oh and at least think about making nutritious meals all while being pregnant. Actually you may be surprised how many people think that all this would be not be a difficult task (the realtor we are FORCED to work with for one) with a shrug of their shoulders they talk about the trying 2 weeks they had while they were listed and how horrible it was for them and don't worry we'll get an offer soon. Seriously after 19 months do you know how sick we are of those stories and oh so sage advice? OK if you have read this blog for a while you are well aware.
Anyway, a while back Chad set us up with wireless, and then the magical day came when I finally received a laptop for work. However, I didn't realize how much easier it made things until Friday....the day my wireless went out. After calling tech support (aka Chad...not the one at work where I would talk to someone in India) I plugged a cable into my laptop and got to work, but no wireless....stuck in the computer room with no more freedom. On top of that my space bar broke and the cable that went into my computer was highly sensitive, If I were to breathe on it, I would be disconnected from Internet. Oh and did I mention I was covering for 2 coworkers who were out sick? Yeah, working was oh so much fun. Luckily Daniel kept pretty busy all day......played happily and I got work done. But you wanna know what he did?
He did what any other toddler would do, destroy the computer room. The rest of the house stayed clean, and amazingly we didn't get any calls for showing. Chad came home (after a lovely 2 hour commute) fixed the wireless, space bar, and he and Daniel cleaned up the computer room.
See it's no problem to try and sell your home while you work from home......what stress? ..... I have a great husband:-)

Daniel's ER visit, and home selling update

Well it looks like Daniel waited a little over 19 months to visit the ER. After an eventful weekend and a normal Monday, he woke up on Tuesday breathing really oddly (short breathes). It got worse the more he got upset (which upset him more). Finally Chad and I decided to take him to the ER. He was pretty calm on the way there we found that thumping on his back while he was laying no his belly made him feel better, so he was a little better before we left. However all went downhill again once he saw the thermometer and they whipped off his diaper he doesn't like it at the doctors when they take his temperature under his armpit, so you can imagine the horror when they did it this way.
In the room they gave us a tiny little gown to dress him up in, we had to laugh at how much privacy they gave us to change him, like a 19 month old cares. We got him calmed down again by opening the door and letting him see what was going on however Daddy could not put him down, or sit down himself. We saw the doctor fairly quickly, he did an exam then order a breathing treatment and chest x-ray. He got the x-ray (Chad joked that he also got zapped a bit) then he did not like the breathing treatment. When the doc got back he said something to the effect of "Well it doesn't seem like pneumonia, but there was a small area on his x-ray so we will put him on antibiotics just in case". The discharge papers said pneumonia and fever, but we still aren't to sure. He is doing better today being as silly as ever. He didn't go into daycare yesterday and I am keeping him out today just in case. I don't want to be on of those mothers who "Brought him in with pneumonia"......however who knows what it really is.

I also don't know where he would have caught it. Monday he was fine all day but got really crabby in the evening. This happens every once in a while when I work from home, also Chad was home since we had dentist appointments and he missed some of his nap. Sunday we went to Mikias's baptism and he was around other kids then but other than being a little crabby from a late nap he was good. Saturday we spent the day with Grandma and Grandpa and went apple picking and he was really good for only having 2 small naps. Who knows maybe the lack of good naps he just caught something.
He is great today and has no fever. I guess we should just be lucky 19 months is the first time he has been to the ER. We were a little freaked out, but once he started doing his normal Daniel antics we couldn't help but laugh at him in his little gown.
Speaking of Daniel antics, he loves to throw things away. I thought teaching Belle to pick things up for me was useful. However being able to hand a toddler something and asking him to throw and not only does he do it but he cheers afterward.....HOW COOL! Maybe mad dash "OMG someone is coming for a showing in 10 minutes" house clean ups will be a little easier;-

OK and finally onto the house "stuff". We have officially switched to a new realtor. We actually wanted to stay with our last one, however this new deal we are working on requires us to use their realtor. We had to break out contract but he took it well and understood the reasoning behind it. Since we have signed on all the dotted lines I think I can now talk more openly about what we are doing.....well I have to leave off certain specifics because of a confidentiality clause.
We are working with Lombardo Homes, and a program they have called It Is Possible and the cheesy name fits. We researched this a lot before we talked to them (we looked into this before our U.P. trip) and we asked lots of questions. Before we went with them we were going to take a loss on our home. The amount depended on the offer and how much the bank would be willing to loan us, and NO we would not get ANY equity out of our home, because that was lost over a year ago because of this housing market.
With this program we would basically be trading our home. This is where I can't get into specifics to much because the program creates individual solutions for each family. However we are "cautiously optimistic" (yeah I hate that phrase as well) about the outcome mostly because we have been disappointed by every other plan.
The funny thing is, we are moving into an "association"......something I said I did not want to do. However I really do like the layout of the house and the neighborhood has lots of families (and pregnant woman according to my mom). The master bedroom and master bath are crazy big....with two walk in closets....big enough for one to be a nursery. The location is also not actually in Port Huron, but close enough. There are still details that will need to be worked out before we can move in...the most important being we have to SELL this house before we can move in.....and then we may need to coordinate with the birth of 2.0. They said they have sold everyones' home that has joined the program so far. However we are still kind of back at square one and need to deal with showings. So no moving into this new house until someone loves our house so much they pee their pants on the first view and they actually follow through with an offer. Although I think Chad said it best "There seems to be light at the end of the tunnel"

Baby 2.0 is doing good. Kicking a whole lot more than I ever felt Daniel do however that is probably because I feel it more since he is number 2. I have heartburn like crazy which I don't remember happening with Daniel until the 7 month. Yesterday I went through my closet and took out anything that I won't be wearing for a while and put all my maternity stuff away. Our closet was getting pretty stuffed and its about time for me to give in a wear clothes that fit right:-)
Well I think this is a long enough post...hope everyone is having a good week!
