New Deal

So Chad saved the day.
The problem we were having was that the appraisal on our new house was not matching up with the purchase price. The builder didn't think this was a problem if we went with another mortgage company. However it didn't sound like the buyers of our old house wanted to stick around at all. We were NOT moving back into our old house. So Chad got the bright idea to "rent" out the house to the buyers for free until the mortgage was finalized. This seemed to work out for them. So today we signed some lease papers and met the buyers and swap some stories. I guess the house they were staying in was being foreclosed on (they didn't own it) so they were being evicted.
So we are still waiting to see if this all works our. We are halfway there I guess.

The Deal is off

For now the deal is off. Still waiting on final words or if we can delay it (the buyers on our house wanted to walk earlier this week). However we are all moved out with no where to go. I'm trying to keep a positive outlook.

Still waiting

The house is cleared out but still waiting for a for sure close date/time. Right now its looking like Friday, but we are still waiting for final approval on our mortgage. We are constantly exhausted and are only halfway through this move (if there even is a move). It still feels surreal to even be at this point.

Updates

Well I was hoping to update a while ago with 4th of July pics, but I never got around to it. We have been really busy with house stuff but at the same time we are pretty much in the same state we were weeks ago. Anyway a quick update from the past 2 weeks in semi order:
  • We took The Monday and Tuesday after the 4th off. We really just needed some time off away from the house so we went to my moms.
  • On 4th of July we did what every other American did for dinner....went to a fish fry...what you didn't? You missed out it was yummy
  • At the fish fry there was live music (accordion polka music....again very traditional;-) Daniel loved watching the guy play and then he asked me to dance. Melted my heart.
  • Daniel LOVED swimming! He even asked to go to the water after his first swim.
  • Daniel now loves bathes. My brother mentioned before that he will like baths when he can take one with Matthew....that's one theory. Another one, we used to threaten Daniel "Either bath or bedtime".....well now he realizes if he takes a bath bedtime is that much further away.
  • During the log weekend I actually lost track of what day it was, very nice.
  • We ordered all of our appliances still not knowing when we were moving in, but Sears was having a great sale.
  • The last day of our mini vacation we went to a restaurant for lunch. Daniel started to act up so I took him out for a time out. Some random man didn't like how I was doing it (I was not spanking, just telling him to sit very sternly) so he started to yell at me. I told him to call the cops, and I kept telling him that while he glared at me. Needless to say it was a letdown to the whole weekend. No one wants to be accused of being a child abuser.....btw the cops never came.
  • We have been told that closing may be next Monday or Tuesday.....but could be as late as next Friday.
  • Did I mention we have to be out by close? And we can't move our stuff into the new house until after close. Not knowing when close is....makes everything really difficult. Seriously how do they expect us to do that?
  • This Friday we have a wedding to go to, Chad is also doing video for the wedding. Although we lose that day for packing, it will be nice to go out.
  • Since we knew we could possibly close next Monday and were losing a day in packing this Friday we decided to do most of the packing this past weekend and move in with my In-Laws and just wait instead of possibly running around last minute.
  • Daniel's last day at our current daycare was yesterday. I am still nervous about having the 2 kids around while I work (we have no childcare setup yet in the new house.....no close date)....however having Papa around is great.....maybe we could hire Papa in the new house;-)
  • We have a SAM to store our stuff.....however we have to give them notice to come get it.....again a little difficult when we don't know when close is!
  • We did our walk through on the new house. It feels silly to point out places it needs a paint touch up. We have a 2 year old, the paint is going to look "perfect" only for the first 5 minutes we live there....maybe.
  • We keep telling each other it feels so surreal and we fully expect it all to fall through. Honestly if it does hello foreclosure 'cause I am NOT moving it all back in.
  • Its crazy to see how much stuff we have and to think it does all fit into this box. But we also have had a storage unit for a few years now.
  • I never thought how long it would take to actually pack. However we are taking our time trying to sort though what we can to make move in easier (sorting all the items from 1 bathroom to go into 3 for example). Plus I have to stop every few hours to feed Matthew.
  • My In Laws were a huge help, My MIL packed up the kitchen and workshop all by herself. My FIL entertained the kids. If you know Daniel, its hard to say who had the tougher job LOL.
  • In the midst of all this work has gotten really busy. Yesterday I found myself working on my mattress on the floor of the bedroom, it was the last piece of furniture left.
  • Finally.....I'm tired...........
More updates when we know more (or who knows when we are finally moved in)
