And now, Halloween is already past us. Chad and I went to a Haunted House for a date night. I love seeing how stupid and silly they are. My dad used to take me when I was little (seriously I think I started to go when I was 7)... and although I jump I never quite get "scared"...it's all really fake. But that is what makes it fun for me. Daniel was really curious as to where we went. We told him it was a "spooky house", and explained it was people who jump out and scare you, but they just wear funny makeup and outfits. The other day we took the boys to a corn maze. Part of the setup at this farm had a "haunted house". It was open, but not really running. The rooms were still set up, but nothing was moving, and there weren't any actors. So we took the boys through to get an idea what a "spooky house" was like. One room was set up like a kitchen and had a sink....but it was some kind of grizzly scene. Daniel said later:
"the sink in one room was really dirty and needed to be cleaned, the room was so messy there was red paint everywhere"I had to laugh, because he didn't even associated what the red paint was supposed to look like....only that it was red paint. Also that messy house = scary ....lol guess he won't end up on Hoarders. Trick-or-treating was fun.....except for the cold. Daniel was a farmer, and Manu a teddy bear. About halfway though Manu had enough and asked to go home. He was so cuddly in his costume and I was happy for the chance to cuddle with him for a bit that night.
This fall Manu has also come up with a new word...."Swinky". I don't know if he completely made it up, or thinks he is saying something else. But it generally means he doesn't like something. When getting him dressed he will tell us he doesn't want to wear an item because:
"That's to swinky"He's even accused Daniel of being "to swinky" .......someday I may agree with him.....someday when I figure out what it means.
